Way, way back when I was just a baby traveler, not two weeks off the plane from JFK airport in New York, I visited my first Thai island, the beautiful Koh Phi Phi. Right around the same time, a massive 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Port au Prince, the capital of Haiti.

Revisiting the Pros and Cons of Booking in Advance

Uneasy about whether it would work in our favor or not both monetarily and for our planning, we went ahead with it anyways. Our time in Thailand was fantastic, however, after reevaluating and going through our second country without any prior bookings, we’ve decided the T.A.T. bookings did our trip more harm than good.

The Parallels between Haiti and Koh Phi Phi

Although it’s fairly difficult to come by a television with English news, I’ve been doing my best to keep up with news on the recent earthquakes in Port au Prince, Haiti. As a traveler, it’s easy to let news fall to the wayside and just enjoy your time away from reality, but as a reporter, that’s more than impossible for me.
